Our Turf Calculator helps you work out exactly how much turf you’ll need for your project — whether it’s a small backyard, a large sports field, or a commercial space. With accurate measurements, you’ll save money, reduce waste, and get the perfect coverage for your new lawn.

Step 1 – Measure Your Area

Before you calculate, grab:
- A tape measure or measuring wheel
- A notepad and pen (or your phone)
- Someone to help if it’s a large space

Measuring Tips:
- Always measure the longest length and the widest width of your area.
- For odd shapes, break the space into smaller rectangles, triangles, or circles — then measure each and add them together.
- Double-check your measurements before calculating to avoid under- or over-ordering.

Step 2 – Use Our Turf Calculation Formula

For rectangular or square areas:
Length (m) × Width (m) = Area in m²

For triangular areas:
Length (m) × Width (m) ÷ 2 = Area in m²

For circular areas:
Radius (m) × Radius (m) × 3.14 = Area in m²

Step 3 – Add a Little Extra

We recommend ordering 5–10% extra turf to allow for cutting, shaping, and any measuring miscalculations.
Example: If your total area is 50m², order at least 53–55m².
